Richelieu Bound for Scrapyard

First of all, my source of information is still down. Who knows when It will be normal again. I not sure what to do if anything. So I figured I keep my blog going with some news.

The Richelieu departed lay-up in Montreal on Sunday, bound for Aliaga, Turkey for scrapping. She left under her own power. The Richelieu was built in 1981 and sailed for Canada Steamship Lines. This is the third ship to be scrapped this year, after the Algoma Provider and Phoenix Star. Her fleetmates Saguenay, Maplegeln, and Oakglen have been in lay-up since last year. Who knows what the future holds for them.

A salty arrived at a unknown dock. I can't find her name. This is Isle Royal's first commercial arrival of the season.

Announcement

I'm sad to announce that I will no longer be able to make End of the Month Reports, as it is pretty hard and tedious to keep track of hundreds of vessels for the whole year, for multiple reports. I will continue my July ones, then I will be done. Obviously, I will still post regular reports and Great Lakes news.

Thought I would put the word out that the staff of Boatnerd.com is looking for volunteers to help with their website. If you're interested, go to Boatnerd.com, go to News Channel and scroll down until you see the headline "Volunteers Wanted for Boatnerd".
